It is a broad flat mountain top, and it is a point of convergence of thermals from different directions. It is better to place a few windsocks in different points of the take-off and at the centre and only take off when a consistent cycle comes in. The cycles are short and come every 15 or 20 minutes. [ES] La Silla es una zona térmica por lo que se puede viajar de valle a valle aprovechando las pequeñas cordilleras que liberan termas, por la dificultad del rescate de los pilotos es mejor tratar de aterrizar cerca a las vias principales claramente visibles desde el aire, tomar en cuent tambien que en la tarde entra el viento del oceano pacifico por lo que viajar en dirección a Portoviejo es dificil a partir de las 14h00 When the Pacific wind (west) sets in, gusts of over 30 km/h may occur. Přístup a přistání
From Portoviejo, take a bus to Sucre (sometimes referred to as '24 de Mayo'). After you pass Colón, once the bus leaves the main road, the take-off can be easily identify ahead thanks to it's flat top. 'La Silla' means 'The Chair'. About 3km before reaching Sucre, you need to leave the main road and take a dirt road that starts on the right. The dirt road goes all the way to the top but the upper section is steep and not suitable for a normal car, so you need a 4x4, a motorcycle or even a donkey. The is one very decent hotel in Sucre (10USD/night as of 2014). [ES] Se toma autobus hacia 24 de mayo desde Portoviejo, por la ruta Colón, Santa Ana, Lodana, uno puede ver el despegue desde la carretera y el porque el nombre de la montaña gracias a su particular forma, el camino es asfaltado y afirmado ciertas partes, luego hay un desvio donde se empieza a subir a la montaña y es recomendable subir en camioneta, auto 4x4 o moto que se utiliza en el sector como medio de transporte o taxi
