Grass launch with adequate space for forward and reverse take-offs. Clean run-out when conditions are suitable. Launch is suitable for experienced solo pilots and tandem operations during the season. Best flown during the main flying season with stable synoptic winds. Typical flyable wind strength at launch is light to moderate. Morning conditions are generally smoother with laminar airflow. From late morning to afternoon, thermal activity increases and strong valley winds may develop, especially toward the Wellawaya basin. Cloud build-up and reduced visibility can occur rapidly due to orographic effects. Rain showers and gust fronts are possible during unstable periods. Wind direction and strength should be carefully assessed before launch, particularly for tandem operations. Flying is not recommended during strong southerly flow, frontal systems, or unstable monsoon conditions.
