Klíčové informace

Podmínky

Volcanic Ascent at Las Abras has become a gem of tourism in Turrialba. Starting at the Santa Cruz church, visitors follow a 4-kilometer route that blends paved roads and then a gravel path, hugging the slopes of the volcano. Along the way, sweeping panoramic views unfold of the majestic Turrialba volcano, the Guayabo monument, and nearby towns like Torito, San Antonio, and Santa Cruz. This route is not just a climb to the take-off; it is a journey through natural and cultural wealth. Upon arrival, visitors can enjoy an exceptional culinary offer: small artisanal dairies producing high-quality cheeses, and restaurants offering traditional, local cuisine. Moreover, the area is connected by a network of roads and trails that allow you to move, for example, from Turrialba volcano to Irazú volcano, forming an internal route that enriches the experience. It is a place where each step is an invitation to discovery, and where the government, by driving legislative projects, is transforming the area into a top-tier destination—where adventure, culture, and nature merge to offer an unforgettable experience.

Přístup a přistání

The access to Volcanic Ascent at Las Abras starts about 4 kilometers from the Santa Cruz de Turrialba church. You follow a paved road up to a point, and then the road becomes a gravel path, right along the slopes of the volcano. At that point, you leave the car and continue on foot, or with a 4x4 vehicle, since the trail is steep. Motorcycles are not allowed due to the incline. Once you reach the reference point, you’ll begin your hike to the take-off.
